Planned bonfires
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service often receives calls about fires that turn out to be planned bonfires or land clearance. If you're planning a visible fire, such as:
- A bonfire
- Stubble burning
- Land or agricultural burning
Please let our Control Room know in advance on 0113 823 7007 (non-emergency)
Please provide:
- The exact location of the fire
- Planned start and end times
- A contact name and phone number
This helps us avoid unnecessary callouts and keeps everyone safe.
Important
Having a bonfire in your garden can quickly get out of control, and we do not recommend it. The safest option is to avoid garden bonfires and instead attend planned bonfires.
