Todmorden Fire Station

Todmorden Fire Station, built in 1969, is positioned in the heart of the South Pennines moorland area.  It borders with both Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and is situated in the centre of the community of Todmorden.  The population is 16,023 and the area incorporates 6,859 dwellings.  

Skelmanthorpe Fire Station

Skelmanthorpe Fire Station was constructed in 1956 and sits on the outskirts of the village centre which is approximately 200 metres above sea level.  The station covers the area south of Huddersfield and is approximately 31 square miles which includes Skelmanthorpe, Denby Dale, Upper and Lower Cumberworth, Upper and Lower Denby, Emley, Scissett, Shelley, Clayton West, Shepley, Kirkburton and High Burton.

Mytholmroyd Fire Station

Mytholmroyd fire station is located in the centre of the village which has a population of 12,123 and incorporates 5,449 dwellings. The station is managed by a Station Manager, who is also responsible for Todmorden, and retained firefighters, who operate the ‘on call’ retained duty system. The fire station was built in 1973 and borders with Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service. There is also a station clerk who supports crews in their day to day work and is a vital asset ensuring the station runs efficiently.

Meltham Fire Station

Meltham Fire Station is situated five miles west of Huddersfield and the village, with a population of approximately 8,000, is approximately 250 metres above sea level.  

The fire station, built in 1954, is situated in the centre of the village and is on the edge of the Peak District having the potential for serious wildfires. The local industry comprises of a range a light engineering and textiles.

Halifax Fire Station

Halifax fire service personnel are committed to improving the service delivered to the local community and the people of West Yorkshire. There is a population of 69,483 and the area incorporates 29,072 dwellings. The service is enhanced by continued training, improved communications and better inter-agency co-ordination. The team is made up of a station commander and 22 firefighters. There is also a station clerk who supports crews in their day to day work and is a vital asset ensuring the station runs efficiently.

Cleckheaton Fire Station

Cleckheaton Fire Station personnel strive to make Cleckheaton a safer place and reduce overall incidents by maintaining the ability to deal with fire and rescue when required.  The area incorporates 19,144 dwellings and a population of 44,599.  The Chain Bar roundabout, which falls within the station area, is the hub for the M62, M606, A58 and A62 road networks.

We were called at 07:05 to reports of a fire at a flat on Great Horton Road in Bradford.

On arrival this was a derelict building involved crews from Bradford and Fairweather Green used hose reels and breathing apparatus to extinguish the blaze.

 

 

Date: 02/01/2023            

We were called to reports of a house fire at 14.06 on Blenheim Road in Bradford

This was found to be a house with 50% of the first floor involved in fire.

Crews from Shipley, Fairweather Green and Bradford used breathing apparatus hose reels and positive pressure ventilation to extinguish the blaze.

 

Alarm monitoring company passed fire alarm – crews found smoke issuing from door of flat on 9th floor – crews gained access – 2 breathing apparatus, 1 large jet and a PPV fan used.
