We were called at 13.57 today to reports of a moorland fire off Greenfield Road in Holmfirth. We currently have 10 crews and supporting wildfire units at the scene or making their way to the scene. We are working with our colleagues at Greater Manchester FRS as the fire is also breaching their area. The fire is currently spreading North towards Marsden.

The public are asked to avoid the area while we continue to work with our partners to bring the fire under control.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) staff are safely back in the UK after being part of a successful convoy delivering vital firefighting equipment to Ukrainian firefighters.

We currently have several pumps and wildfire support units at the scene of a large moorland fire near March Haigh Reservoir in Huddersfield.

It is approximately 1.5x1.5km and developing rapidly.

The public are being asked to avoid the paths and area around March Haigh Reservoir.

This incident involved a garage fire which spread to a shed and fences.

The initial attending appliance requested 1 additional fire engine to assist with water supplies.

4 breathing apparatus and 4 hosereels were used to extinguish the fire.

Fire in kitchen of a ground floor flat. 

Fire crews used 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reels and a positive pressure ventilation fan to deal with the incident.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service attended to carry out precautionary checks of the occupants.

Smoke detection were fitted and working.

Crews were mobilised to a 2 car road traffic collision. 

On arrival they found one female (approx. 55 years old) to be medically trapped in one vehicle.

Crews assisted with extrication and left the casualty in care of Yorkshire Ambulance Service. 

After making the scene safe, crews left the scene in hands of West Yorkshire Police.

Crews from Bradford and Killingbeck attended as they were both on standby providing operational cover at stations nearby.

Fire on first floor of domestic property, also affecting roof.

On arrival, the initial incident commander requested an aerial appliance attend.

Fire crews dealt with the fire using 1 aerial, 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets and 1 positive pressure ventilation fan.

This was a kitchen fire - kitchen measuring 5m x 7m 100% involved.

Crews used 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reels and positive pressure ventilation to extinguish the fire. Yorkshire Ambulance Service attended for 1 adult male suffering smoke inhalation.

2 engines from Huddersfield and 1 from Meltham attended.

Smoke detectors fitted and working.
