Do you have a wealth of information governance knowledge?

You can help West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service by supporting the Head of Corporate Services in the development and management of effective and robust Information Governance and Information Management systems and procedures for the Authority.

Job Purpose: You will take a lead role in the management of all aspects of Information Governance within the Authority; working within a number of frameworks concerning compliance, information governance, best practice and legislation e.g. West Yorkshire Information Governance Framework, International Information Security standard ISO 27001, HMG Security Policy Framework.  You will develop Information Governance policies, procedures and guidance and ensure effective implementation across the Authority.  You will ensure all aspects of the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation requirements are monitored and embedded and support the development of controls across all the Information Governance Framework strands.  You will develop policies and systems to ensure compliance with legislation.

Essential requirements: You will be flexible and adaptable and have considerable experience of working in a relevant information governance related role and experience of developing and advising on Information Governance Policy matters.  You will be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline and have a specialist qualification in information governance related topics or comparable experience.  You will have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of complex legislative information governance issues including the General Data Protection Regulation and a high level of oral and written communication skills.

Whilst you will be required to work from our offices for parts of your initial training, after this you’ll work both in the office and from home as part of our ‘hybrid’ working model. We are seeking an experienced Occupational Psychologist to help West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service drive quality, people-focused organisational transformation. This is the first Occupational Psychologist practitioner role for the Service. As such, it offers a rare opportunity to shape, influence and embed occupational psychology as a strategic capability across the organisation. You will have significant autonomy to define the direction of the role and make a lasting impact.

Balancing research with real-world delivery, this role is ideal for someone who is creative, motivated and driven by making a tangible difference. You will translate scientific research into practical, inclusive and impactful solutions across the full-employee lifecycle - from early engagement and recruitment through to retirement.

About the Role: As a Senior Occupational Psychologist, you will provide specialist consultancy and research across the full employee lifecycle for both operational and enabling team colleagues.

You’ll lead and influence projects across all aspects of the People and Culture Strategy, including recruitment, development, structures, talent and succession, wellbeing and organisational change; turning evidence into action and demonstrating return on investment.

Key responsibilities include (please see candidate pack for full outline):

  • Identifying opportunities for occupational psychology to add business value to achieving WYFRS’ People and Culture Strategy, acting as a role model and ambassador for the profession.
  • Leading end-to-end consultancy projects, delivering applied psychological research and impact evaluation to a range of initiatives.
  • Advising on development and deployment of interventions across the employee lifecycle; including professional development, leadership, talent and succession, wellbeing and organisational development.
  • Providing insights to support organisational policies and processes at every stage of the employee lifecycle i.e. attraction, recruitment and selection, performance and development, engagement and retention, offboarding and succession planning.
  • Applying statistical analysis to a range of organisational challenges identifying patterns and trends and assuring fairness and validity throughout.
  • Using impactful science communication skills to translate key concepts and occupational psychology theory into practical solutions

About You:

You will be an experienced Occupational Psychologist with strong consultancy skills and a passion for applying psychology to complex organisational challenges.

In addition to the key criteria outlined in the job description and the technical skills set out in the Government Occupational Psychology Profession Skills and Standards you must meet the Qualification, Licences and Membership requirements listed below.

Qualifications:

  • MSc in Occupational Psychology (or equivalent titled course) approved as Stage 1 by the British Psychological Society.
  • BPS Qualification in Occupational Psychology Stage 2  or have completed Part 1 and Part 2 of a Professional Doctorate in Occupational Psychology British Psychological Society Qualification in Occupational Psychology Stage 2 (QOPS2) or have completed Part 1 and Part 2 of a professional doctorate in occupational psychology, which confers Chartered Member with the BPS (see Memberships) and Full Member of the Division of Occupational Psychology (See Memberships).

Memberships:

  • Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society.
  • Full Member of the Division of Occupational Psychology, British Psychological Society.

Licences:

  • Registered Occupational Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) with no sanctions or restrictions or willing and eligible to apply for registration.

Description

WYFRS is seeking Applications from personnel interested in becoming an Enhanced Logistics Support (ELS) Operator. You will become part of a dedicated team, who will prepare for, train and respond to incidents of national significance.

The remit of ELS is to provide logistical support during the deployment of National Resilience assets and crews to incidents that require co-ordination, and logistics support at local, regional and national events.

Roles include, but are not limited to delivering briefings, geographical data and mapping, management of relief crews, National Resilience equipment and vehicles including repairs, replacement of consumables as required.

Expressions are welcomed from ALL WYFRS personnel irrespective of where you currently work now. Successful applicants will not be required to transfer from their current postings.

Interviews scheduled to take place on 18, 20 & 23 February 2026. 

N.B – Successful applicants MUST be available to attend an ELS Operator course in Gloucestershire on 20 – 22 May 2026. 

You will qualify for an Annual Allowance for commitment, flexibility and maintaining competence of £500. This will be paid throughout the year in your monthly salary and a final bonus payment of £250 is payable at the end of the 12-month period.

The rate of pay for this post is Grade 7, SCP 28 and deployments out of hours will be paid at this rate at the relevant spinal point.

The pensionable status of this post is determined by the pension scheme you are part of.  For members of the Local Government Pension Scheme, pay is deemed pensionable. For members of Firefighters Pension Scheme pay is deemed non pensionable.

Description

Following a review of the service delivery administration function, an exciting opportunity has arisen for the post holder to be responsible for and manage the co-ordination and delivery of the Service Delivery Administration Hub.  This role is key to ensure the administration service provided to the station-based service delivery function is efficient, visible and meets the needs of our customers including our operational crews and the communities we serve.

We are looking for someone with varied previous administration and organisation experience, who shares our core values and is committed to providing an outstanding service. Experience of supervising and leading a team is desirable as this will be a key element of the role, managing a team across a number of different work locations.

The successful candidate will work a 37-hour week flexible working arrangement, including hybrid working. Whilst you will be required to work from our offices for parts of your initial training, after this you’ll work both in the office and from home as part of our ‘hybrid’ working model. Therefore, applicants must have a reliable home internet connection.
