We are looking for an ambitious and experienced Digital Transformation Manager to help shape the next phase of that journey.
This is a pivotal leadership role within our Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) function. Reporting directly to the Head of Digital, Data and Technology, you will lead the delivery of our digital transformation agenda, ensuring technology, data and innovation deliver measurable improvements for our staff, communities, and frontline services.
You will provide strategic leadership across a diverse portfolio of change initiatives, working with senior leaders across the organisation to identify opportunities, drive innovation and realise the benefits of digital investment.
This is far more than a technology role. It is an opportunity to influence organisational strategy, shape future ways of working and help build a truly data-driven and digitally enabled fire and rescue service.
About the Role
As Digital Transformation Manager, you will:
- Lead the development and delivery of the Service's digital transformation roadmap.
- Drive organisational change programmes that improve effectiveness, productivity, and service outcomes.
- Work with senior leaders to identify opportunities for innovation and digital improvement.
- Oversee digital programmes, projects, business analysis, change management and adoption activities.
- Ensure digital initiatives align with organisational priorities, governance arrangements, and strategic objectives.
- Champion data-driven decision making across the organisation.
- Promote digital and data literacy, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Develop strong relationships with operational and corporate departments to understand challenges and identify opportunities.
- Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team of digital professionals including programme, project, change, M365, systems development and data specialists.
- Provide regular reporting and assurance to senior leadership, governance boards, and committees.
We're looking for someone who can combine strategic thinking with practical delivery.
Essential Experience
- Significant experience leading large-scale digital transformation or business change programmes.
- Experience developing and implementing digital strategies aligned to organisational objectives.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making at a strategic level.
- Strong programme, portfolio, and governance experience.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
- A proven ability to balance innovation, risk, governance, and delivery.
- Experience managing organisational change and driving adoption of new technologies and ways of working.
We offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid working. Whilst you will be required to work from our offices for parts of your initial training, after this you will work both in the office and from home as part of our ‘hybrid’ working model. Therefore, applicants must have a reliable home internet connection.
