Fire at disused industrial unit

Crews on scene have been gradually reduced through the night as fire extinguished and areas damped down with the incident being fully closed at 02:15.

The incident has been reduced to 4 fire engines and 1 aerial appliance who are currently using 4 breathing apparatus, 2 jets and 1 hosereel to tackle the fire and damp down.

Please can we ask people to avoid the area, specifically around Osmondthorpe Lane/York Road.

Residents should continue to keep windows and doors closed.

We have six fire engines and one aerial unit in attendance at a fire at disused industrial building in the Osmondthorpe area of Leeds (LS9).

Please avoid the area if possible. If you live nearby, please keep doors and windows shut.
