Just after 2:40am we received reports of a fire inside a commercial building on Bradford Road, Batley. 

On arrival, fire crews escalated the incident to six crews and two aerial appliances, and then further increased to ten crews.  Fire crews are currently using three large jets, two aerial appliances, two hose reels and two breathing apparatus to extinguish the blaze.

Initial call reported flames from all the windows of the house and the caller was unsure if anyone was still inside.  On arrival this was a fire in the kitchen 10% involved, 2 breathing apparatus and 1 hose reel used with structural damage to the property including front and bedroom windows removed from blast damage.  After a search of the property it was confirmed no persons were inside, adjacent properties were evacuated as a precaution.

Reports of flat on fire with 2 persons trapped on balcony, they were given fire survival guidance by Fire Control and managed to self rescue. An extra fire engine was sent due to nature of incident.

Three hose reels, six breathing apparatus and a positive pressure ventilation fan was used.

House fire persons reported - 1 female rescued from 1st floor bedroom window by fire crews using a ladder.  4 breathing apparatus 2 hose reels and positive pressure ventilation fan used.  Fire survival guidance given by fire control to the caller until the firefighters rescued her to safety
