Sleigh bells at Silsden!

Santa Claus came to town in Silsden as fire station was transformed into winter wonderland

Silsden Winter Wonderland

Silsden Fire Station was transformed into a winter wonderland for local residents on Friday 26 November.

The festive event included a Santa's grotto, range of Christmas stalls and a light switch-on in the community garden.

People from the local community enjoyed free mince pies and hot drinks, and were entertained by carol singing during the evening.

"Our winter wonderland turned out to be a really good community event that was very well attended," said Dominic Creed, Silsden on-call watch manager.

"The feedback we received was very positive, with praise for a well-organised community night, and local residents saying how well connected and caring their local station is with its community. This was great to hear," he said.

Silsden plans to host the winter wonderland event annually, raising money for local charities each year.

This year money was raised to support local community centre The Hive, and to buy Christmas presents for all residents in care homes in Silsden, which will be delivered on Saturday 18 December 2021.
