    Description: As a key member of the Fire Prevention Team the post holder will assist West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service in delivering fire and road safety strategies.

    The successful candidate will be required to work throughout the county of West Yorkshire carrying out home fire safety checks and educating the public and a range of community groups on fire safety, road safety and arson reduction.

    Applicants must have excellent interpersonal and communications skills, have experience of delivering community safety initiatives and education within the community and be able to work on their own initiative.

    The posts are subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) checks and require the possession of a valid driving licence.

    Description: The post holder will be responsible for providing a telephone and reception service at Fire Service Headquarters. Your principal duties will include receiving incoming telephone calls, dealing with switchboard queries, maintaining an up to date directory of all the Authority’s extension numbers, greeting visitors, and occasionally undertaking some word processing and clerical duties.

    Good communication skills and previous administrative experience are a pre-requisite. Candidates must be able to work flexibly and on their own initiative.

Duties of this new role include managing case conferences, assisting employees’ early return to work, coordinating welfare arrangements, monitoring sickness levels and providing management reports.

    Applicants must have experience of providing professional HR advice to managers relating to sickness absence with a sound knowledge of employment legislation. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills along with experience of delivering HR training. Chartered CIPD membership is a prerequisite for this role, as is the possession of a full valid driving licence.

The successful candidate will be experienced in the use of Adobe Dreamweaver and Flash, or similar software. A qualification or experience in Multimedia technology is a pre-requisite as is previous office experience.
