    Ferrybridge fire

    Ferrybridge C Power Station, Stranglands Lane

    15 pumps are still in attendance plus 2 aerial ladder platforms. 5 ground monitors are in use.  A structural engineer has been notified.

    This incident has now been escalated to 15 pumps.

    Crews are still tackling the blaze.  We have just received an informative message that all persons are accounted for. No injuries report at this stage.

    West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to a fire at Ferrybridge C Power Station at 13:57 today (31/07/14).

    Ten fire engines are currently in attendance, which includes firfighters from the surrounding stations of Pontefract, Normanton, Featherstone, Castleford and Wakefield.

    The third floor of a four-storey building is involved in fire (25%). Firefighters are currently using two ground monitors and one aerial to tackle the fire.

    A number of members of the public have called our control room due to the plumes of smoke which can be seen in the surrounding area.

    Please bear with us, as we are currently awaiting further details from fire crews at the scene.

    Boy stuck on top of stone fountain in park - rescued uninjured by fire appliance from Illingworth.

    Road traffic collision Cookridge area

    Otley Old Road Cookridge Leeds

    2 vehicles involved though one had driven off from the scene.  The 2nd vehicle was pushed into the kerb on collision and tipped onto its side.  4 elderly female occupants trapped.  2 rescued by bystanders.  2 rescued by Fire Service personnel.  All transported to hospital by ambulance.

    Keighley House fire

    Braithwaite Avenue, Keighley

    House fire, pan in kitchen involved in fire, crews removed the pan to open air, 1 female occupant suffered slight smoke inhalation and was transported to hospital by ambulance.

    Cromer Avenue, Keighley

    House fire, kitchen involved in fire, crews used 1 hose reel, 2 breathing apparatus and a high powered fan to clear the house of smoke. 1 male occupant suffered slight smoke inhalation and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

    Road traffic collision involving 2 vehicles. 1 female casualty was trapped and extricated by the Fire Service and taken to hospital by ambulance.

    3 x 13yr old boys fallen 30ft down steep banking.  One with lacerations to arm and leg.  Rescued by specialist line rescue teams and left in the care of Yorkshire Ambulance Service

    Pontefract House fire

    Pontefract house fire

    This was house fire with washing machine involved in fire. The fire was out on the arrival of fire service. 1 male occupant was suffering from smoke inhalation and was given oxygen by fire crews before being given a check up by paramedics, the casualty did not require hospital treatment.

    Appliances from Featherstone and Castleford attended.
