    Road Traffic Collision

    Ryan Place, Harehills, Leeds

    Road traffic collision 1 car involved. The vehicle had overturned in an unsafe position with 1 person trapped. They were extricated by FS personnel and transported to hospital by ambulance. Appliances from Gipton attended with the Technical Rescue Unit from Cleckheaton which was returned prior to arrival.

    Flooding Sowerby Bridge Area

    Old Bank, Ripponden, Sowerby Bridge

    Flooding caused by large volume of swift flowing water from a culvert under properties. Vehicles had become totally submerged in the street and 4 to 5 properties possibly needed evacuating. Water rescue  pump and 1 further pump requested and the boat from Brighouse was also mobilised to assist with the possible evacuation. An Emergency Planning officer requested and the council to attend with sand bags. After liasing with the Emergency Planner, and the water levels dropping once the heavy rain had stopped, it was decided that the occupants would remain in their properties and crews assisted with sandbagging. Appliances from Halifax at water rescue crews from Brighouse attended with the boat also from Brighouse. A specialist Technical Rescue Officer was also sent to assist

    House fire, Leeds area

    Raynel Road, Lawnswood, Leeds

    House fire, pan out on arrival, ground floor heavily smoke logged, 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel in use, 1 female occupier aged 81 suffered burns to left hand side of face/cheek and smoke inhalation, taken to hospital by ambulance.

    Appliances attended from Cookridge and Moortown.

    Smoke detectors were fitted and working

    Great Horton Road, Bradford

    Road traffic collision,  2 vehicles involved, 1 person trapped, extricated by Fire Service personnel and transported to hospital by ambulance.  Also 2 walking wounded.

    Bradford House fire

    Reevy Crescent, Buttershaw, Bradford

    House fire, microwave oven in kitchen involved, fire was out on the arrival of the fire service. 5 occupants, 1 adult male, 1 adult female, 1 female child and 2 male children, all suffered smoke inhaltion and were treated at the scene by ambulance crews before being transported to hospital for a precautionary check up.

    1 pump Odsal and 2 Bradford attended

    Bradford School Fire

    Yorkshire Martyrs Catholic College, Westgate Hill Street, Tong, Bradford

    Make pumps 8

    Fire in derelict 2 storey building within the school complex. Part of building involved was 100 per cent involved in fire. Crews have used 1 aerial, 4 jets and 6 breathing apparatus.

    Appliances from across the Brigade area have attended. Approximately 70 personnel in total.

    Scammonden Moorland fire

    New Hey Road, Scammonden

    Moorland fire near to Cupwith Reservoir, 20 beaters and 2 water backpacks in use.

    2 specalist wildfire units and support crews from Holmfirth and Todmorden attended along with 2 pumps from Huddersfield and Elland pump

    Hyde Park Terrace, Woodhouse, Leeds

    House fire on ground floor.  4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reels and positive pressure ventilation used.  1 elderly male and 1 elderly female were taken to hospital by ambulance for precautionary check ups.  2 appliances from Cookridge and Moortown attended.

    Road traffic collision - 2 cars involved. 4 casualties extricated by fire crews and taken to hospital by ambulance.  2 appliances attended from Morley and Hunslet.

    Road traffic collision involving a car and a bin lorry. One male was trapped inside vehicle and extricated by Fire Service and then transported to hospital by ambulance service.
