    Smell of Burning - Wakefield

    Sanderson Street, Wakefield

    Reports of a smell of burning from flat number 10, on arrival smoke was seen to be coming from the window of flat 2. The fire proved to be a pan left unattended on the cooker,a positive pressure fan was used to clear the smoke.  2 adults and 2 children suffered slight smoke inhalation and were given a precuationary check up by the ambulance service.

    Smoke detectors were not fitted, they have now been fitted by the fire service.

    Make Pumps 4 - Building fire - Leeds Area

    George the Fourth Public House, Kirkstall Road, Burley, Leeds

    This was a derelict public house on fire. 50% of the pub was involved, 30m x 20m. Fire was extinguished using 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reels and positive pressure ventilation.

    Appliances Cookridge,Moortown, Stanningley and Gipton attended along with specialist officers.

    Make pumps 6 Barn fire - Morley Area

    Hepworth Avenue, Churwell, Morley

    Make pumps 6 barn fire. This was a series of farm buildings involved in fire, fire was extinguished using 5 breathing apparatus, 2 large jets, 5 hand held jets and a ground monitor. The incident was sectorised into 3 sections. Numerous cylinders were also involved in fire and cooled using covering jets.

    Appliances Morley, Batley, Leeds and Hunslet attended along with Technical Rescue Unit from Cleckheaton. Specialist and supporting officers also attended the incident.

    Animal Rescue

    Spencer Road, Keighley

    Request from RSPCA to assist with the rescue of a Cat whose front legs were trapped in the Engine Bay of a car.  Fire Crews rescued the Cat and passed it over to the RSPCA.  Appliance attended incident from Keighley Fire Station

    Rescue from scaffolding - Leeds area

    Harewood Street, Leeds

    Rescue from height. This was collapsed scaffolding with one male fallen from height and one male rescued from top of structure. Both casualties were transferred to hospital by ambulance.

    2 appliances and aerial from Leeds, 1 appliance from Rawdon and technical rescue unit from Cleckheaton attended.

    Road traffic collision, 1 car involved. 1 female trapped, extrication carried out by fire service personnel and casualty transferred to hospital by ambulance.

    House fire persons Huddersfield

    Church Lane, Moldgreen, Huddersfield

    House fire persons reported – house fire 1 person rescued from 1st floor bedroom by breathing apparatus wearers, 1 hose reel, 2 breathing apparatus and positive pressure ventilation fan were used.  Fire survival guidance given to occupier by Fire Control Operator until arrival of pumps.  One male casualty taken to hospital suffering smoke inhalation by YAS.

    2 appliances from Huddersfield and 1 from Brighouse attended.  Smoke detectors fitted but not working

    Make Pumps 8 & Aerials 2- Building Fire - Leeds Area

    St Pauls House, High Street, Morley, Leeds

    Make pumps 8 and Aerials 2 - Fire in a 4 storey timber framed building, size of building was 30m x 20m. Building was under construction with scaffolding all around it. It was 100% involved in fire and showed signs of collapse. Fire was sectorised and extinguished using 3 ground monitors, 3 large Jets and 2 aerials.

    Appliances from Morley, Hunslet, Leeds, Cleckheaton, Dewsbury and aerials from Leeds and Bradford stations attended along with numerous supporting appliances and specialist officers.
