West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service’s training centre offers various fire safety courses.

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (the RRO, or sometimes referred to as the Fire Safety Order 2005) means that all companies are obliged to ensure employees receive adequate training in fire safety on a yearly basis. Self-employed people and the voluntary sector are also brought within this regime. All courses are designed to meet current fire safety legislation.

The Training Centre is located on the outskirts of Bradford.

Course Details

Fire Extinguisher Training Course

The RRO (or Fire Safety Order 2005) has made fire safety training a legal requirement for staff members. This course will help employers fulfil their obligations under the RRO to uphold fire safety in the workplace and use Fire Extinguishers.

This course includes a ‘hands on’ practical session on fire extinguishers. The fires are created and controlled by the trainer at all times,

Who needs this training?

This fire training course will be of benefit to staff.

Delegates receive

  • An overview of fire classifications.
  • Fire safety training and how to identify fire hazards in areas of work and general locations
  • An understanding of extinguisher types and uses
  • Knowledge of how to respond in an emergency
  • An understanding of the means to extinguish a fire.

Fire Marshal Training Course

All Fire Marshal training courses comply with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (RRO). The RRO (or Fire Safety Order 2005) has made fire safety training a legal requirement for staff members.

This course includes a practical session on the use of fire extinguishers. The fires are created and controlled by the trainer at all times.

This is a one day course. The course starts at 9:30 am and ends no later than 4:00 pm. Delegates with individual dietary requirements should contact the Commercial Training department, in confidence, no later than four weeks before the start date of the course. The price for this course carries no VAT.

Who needs this training?

This course will be of benefit to staff, particularly those designated as a fire warden or marshal. It is suitable for employees working in industry, commerce or the public sector.

Fire Marshal Renewal Training Course

Who needs this training?

This course is for Fire Marshals who need to refresh their fire safety training and renew their certification.

Duration

The course lasts no more than four hours.

The certificate is valid for 3 years.
