About
Elland Fire Station, built in 1965, is positioned on the edge of town and allows interaction with members of the public and partner agencies. There is a population of 23,824 in the area which incorporates 9,997 dwellings. The team is made up of a station commander (who also manages Brighouse) 24 operational firefighters and a station clerk. All staff work hard to reduce the risks to the people of the Elland and Calderdale district. Elland's operational staff are trained to support the Command Unit which is based at Batley Fire Station. This role has developed and there are skills in command and control of large incidents around the brigade. The station borders with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service.
