The station is staffed by a station commander who also has responsibility for Ilkley Fire Station and the station clerk provides administrative support to both stations. Personnel also consists of 24 wholetime firefighters who aim to reduce the levels of all fires and other incidents by fire prevention initiatives, protecting the community from other dangerous situations and responding to calls for help.
Bingley and the surrounding area is statistically a safe place to live. However community awareness is being developed by visiting schools and informing the children at an early age. Personnel work together with community groups and partner agencies to share information to make Bingley safer.
Bingley personnel also provide a water rescue capability for the whole of the county. The water rescue capability is soon to incorporate a flood response capability. This will see the addition of a 4x4 vehicle and a trailer with a boat based at the fire station alongside the main fire engine.
