Amendments to 1992 and 2006 Firefighter Pension schemes

You may have seen information in relation to the amendments to the 1992 and 2006 Firefighter Pension Schemes which impact on abatement, deferred pensions and APBs.

We are aware of this issue and will provide more information and guidance in due course.

Pegasus Fire Protection

Pegasus are looking for a retired firefighter who can work part, or occasionally full time depending on the workload, and who can service Dry Risers, Fire Extinguishers, Fire Hydrants. Very occasionally night work is required.

Full training can be provided. The candidate must live reasonably close to Beeston, Leeds. The hourly rate of pay is £8.85 plus holiday pay. Physical fitness and a full driving licence are requirements of the post.

Obituaries

Arthur Kunz

Arthur Kunz passed away on 24th October 2014 aged 93. Mr Kunz, former firefighter at Fairweather Green, served from February 1947, retiring in August 1976.

The funeral service will be held at Scholemoor Crematorium, Necropolis Road, Bradford BD7 2PS on Wednesday 5th November 2014 at 12.40pm.

Ian Dransfield

Ian Dransfield, who was Station Officer at Featherstone approximately 25 years ago, has passed away leaving a widow, Cynthia.

The funeral service will take place at Featherstone Methodist Church, Wilson Street, Featherstone at 11am on Friday 7th November 2014 and afterwards at The King's Croft Hotel, Wakefield Road, Pontefract.

No flowers. Donations will be accepted in favour of 'The Prince Of Wales Hospice'.
