Matt Wood

We have been informed of the death of serving Firefighter Matt Wood following his battle with cancer.  Matt joined the service in June 2003 serving at Fairweather Green and moved to Cleckheaton Blue watch in 2005.  He leaves his wife Angie and sons Harry, Jordan and Joe.

The family funeral will be held at 11.30am on Wednesday 27th May 2015 at St James Church, Church Street, Heckmondwike.


David Michael Hirst

We have been informed of the death on 8th May 2015 of former Firefighter David Michael Hirst, age 69. David joined the service in April 1972 and retired in June 1998 having served at Halifax.







Retirements and Leavers

 Stephen Shaw

Firefighter Stephen Shaw of Huddersfield Blue watch is retiring.

He would like to invite friends and colleagues past and present to celebrate with him at the King's Head (attached to Huddersfield train station) on Friday 1st May 2015 from 19:30hrs. All welcome.

 Andrew Oliver

After 30 years on Moortown White watch Firefighter Andy Oliver 2909 is retiring.

He will be having retirement drinks at Moortown Rugby Club on Friday May 8th from 7.30pm.  Partners and children are welcome.  Pie and Peas. No speeches.

Andy Carter

After 28 years Firefighter Andy Carter 3195 is retiring from Bradford Blue Watch. 

He would like to invite collegues past and present and partners to join him for farewell drinks, food and disco on Saturday 30th May from 7.30pm at Bantams Bar, Bradford City Football Club.
