Diamond day at Halifax Fire Station

There will be fun for all the family at the Calderdale Diamond Jubilee Gala Day this Saturday, 2 June.

The event at Halifax Fire Station, King Cross, will run from 12 noon to 4pm.

The station’s fire appliances will be on display and the public will be able to view an aerial ladder platform in action. West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service’s seatbelt sledge will show visitors the importance of wearing a seatbelt, and the driving simulator will demonstrate the importance of road safety. Firefighters will also carry out a realistic extrication from a smashed up vehicle, again to show the importance of driving safely.

There will be a variety of games and rides for children and entertainment will be provided by Irish dancers and street dancers. A variety of stalls will be selling food and drink, with local produce on offer.

Phoenix Radio will provide entertainment throughout the afternoon.

All money raised on the day will go to Overgate Hospice and The Fire Fighters Charity.
