Chief Fire Officer Extends Sympathies On Thirtieth Anniversary Of Bradford Fire Disaster

Members of West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and its Authority have a heavy heart today as the thirtieth anniversary of the Bradford City fire tragedy is marked across the county and beyond.

Chief Fire Officer Simon Pilling extended his sympathies to those affected by the tragedy three decades ago.

He said:  “The Bradford City fire of May 11, 1985, tragically resulted in the loss of 56 lives and left over 200 people injured.

“On the 30 year anniversary of this terrible day our thoughts are with the families, football supporters and wider Bradford community affected by the disaster.”
