West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service’s annual charity variety show this year promises to be bigger and better than ever before.

The Flaming Charity Variety Show will take place at the City Varieties Music Hall, Swan Street, Leeds, from 7.30pm on Sunday, November 25.

The event has raised thousands of pounds for its chosen charity, the Fire Services’ National Benevolent Fund, over the 12 years it has been staged. Funds will also go to the Trudy Ramsden Memorial Fund for the first time this year, which is in aid of Yorkshire Cancer Research.

Topping the bill at this year’s event is tribute act Meet Loaf, singing sensation Chelsea Radford, magician Dazzling Darren, the SLP Dance College and Blues Tribute Band. And back by popular demand will be comedian Martin Gold, who will compere the show.

West Yorkshire Chief Fire Officer Phil Toase, who is also Chairman of West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service’s National Benevolent Fund Brigade Council, said: “Once again the organising committee has worked tremendously hard during the year to produce an evening for us all to remember.

“The Fire Services’ National Benevolent Fund continues to grow as a charity, improving and increasing the help and assistance it offers to those who work for the fire service, both serving and retired, who may have been injured as a result of their work.

“These services can only be provided as a result of support and donations. It is events like this, and others held throughout the year, that proves West Yorkshire and other brigades in the region are some of the highest fundraising areas in the country. Last year, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service personnel raised more than £160,000 for the charity, which is an excellent effort.”

Tickets for the Flaming Charity Variety Show cost between £8.50 and £14. To book your ticket call the City Varieties box office on 08456 441 881. For further information visit www.flamingcharity.org.
