1 Minutes of the Last Meeting
Resolved
That the Minutes of the meeting held on 22 June 2007 be signed by the Chair as a correct record.
2 Urgent Items
None.
3 Exclusion of the Public - Section 100A, Local Government Act 1972
The meeting determined that there were no items which necessitated the exclusion of the public.
4 Disclosures of Interest
There were no disclosures of interest in any matter under discussion at the meeting.
5 Annual Governance Report
The Chief Finance Officer presented the annual Governance report prepared by the Audit Commission following the audit of the Fire Authority 2006 / 7 statement of accounts.
The Audit Commission informed the committee that the Audit was now substantially complete and that there were no issues arising from the audit that needed to be brought to the attention of the committee. Following a discussion on the statement including a number of questions from members of the committee the Auditors confirmed that they anticipated issuing and unqualified opinion on both the statement of accounts and the Authority’s arrangements for securing value for money by 30 September 2007.
Resolved
(i) That the Chief Finance Officer and the Finance department be congratulated
on their work during the course of the year; and
(ii) That the content of the draft Governance report be noted.
