Overview of the Department

The Operations Policy Team responsibilities are:

WYFRA has a clear policy stating its aims and objectives for Operational preparedness, and which is underpinned by robust Health and Safety management arrangements. This is evident in the IRMP and Corporate Plan that shapes operational policy and establishes clear links to a robust Health and Safety management system incorporating a strong audit and review process. This informs managers at all levels up to and including Authority Members. These management arrangements ensure operational policy is robust, current and reflects best practice.

To achieve these requirements the team produce, update, publish and distribute Operational information to all departments. At present there are documents covering every aspect of the operational elements of WYFRAs duties which ensures the health and safety of all.

A Strategic Risk Assessment is carried out on each document annually and from these a priority list is produced for amendment. Continual horizon scanning ensures procedures are current and relevant.
