The Equalities and Recruitment Department covers various roles which are detailed below.
Attracting a diverse workforce through recruitment campaigns
- Promoting the role of Firefighter to women and people from a Minority Ethnic Background
- Assisting staff with harassment and bullying issues Advising managers on harassment and bullying issues Providing equalities and diversity training for all staff and authority members
- Introducing and up-dating equalities policies and recruitment information
- Supporting the operation of Equality, Diversity and Fairness Steering Group
- Providing the mainstreaming of equalities
- Employing a seconded Firefighter from our target groups to role of temporary crew manager as a role model for recruitment
- Responsible for meeting the equalities standard for local government
