Committee Services provides administrative support to the decision making process and to the Elected Members of the Authority. More specifically, it builds and maintains effective working relationships with Councillors providing:
- a central point of contact
- secretarial business support for Fire Authority business
- papers for various Authority committees and background information or research as required
- an administrative service with regard to arrangements for conferences, Members' allowances, Member training and development, seminars etc
- a register of attendance, record of declarations of interest and a record of written undertakings related to observance of the Authority's Code of Conduct
With regard to the support of the committee system, the section
- circulates all relevant paperwork related to meetings of the Authority to interested parties
- provides advice (procedural and operational) with regard to the decision making process
- is the first port of call for public access to documents
- establishes and manages the meetings cycle
- ensures that relevant legislation is complied with
Committee Services also incorporates the following functions: -
The secretariat is a group of four secretaries who provide a confidential secretarial service to the Directors of the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, and the Chair and Vice Chair of the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Authority.
Registry provides a mail ,filing and distribution service.
Reprographics provides printing, photocopying and binding service to the Authority.
