The new Bradford Community Fire Station is currently under construction at Leeds Road, Bradford and will replace the existing Fire Station property based at Nelson Street, Bradford. The new building will provide modern fire station accommodation to suit current and future emergency fire service and community liaison requirements.
It will consist of five appliance bays fronting onto Leeds Road, Bradford and a three-storey administration block providing accommodation for office, welfare, washing, catering and rest requirements. The ground floor will also feature a community room for use by local groups to promote fire safety and community liaison. Further accommodation will provide workshop and fitness training facilities.
The external areas will provide car parking and a training tower area.
The new station will consist of a steel framed structure with a mixture of brickwork and curtain walling on the outer elevations and curved steel sheeted roof coverings. It has been designed to provide for modern Disability Discrimination Act accessibility requirements and will have a personnel lift and designated toilets.
