THERMAL ARC CUTTING EQUIPMENT
Thermal Arc Cutting Equipment is carried on the Heavy Rescue Tender. The equipment comprises of an Arcair "slice" cutting system; trolley mounted for portability.
The equipment can be used to cut virtually any metallic, non-metallic, or composite material by using a special torch that supplies oxygen to an exothermic cutting rod.
A rechargeable battery (also mounted on the trolley) supplies the electrical power necessary to ignite the torch.
