ROPE RESCUE EQUIPMENT
Firefighter's Safety Harness
Full Body Harness light C70
Manufacturer: Petzl
Specification CE 0197 EN 361
The harness joins the rope to the worker. It gives comfort and safety. In the event of a fall it redistributes the shock force to the worker's body in the best way possible. The harness is designed as a fall arrest harness (EN 361) but does not absorb energy. A separate shock absorbing element is required if there is a risk of exceeding fall factor one (see the section on low stretch rope for more information), personnel should therefore avoid placing themselves in situations where there is enough slack in the system to allow a fall of that magnitude to occur.
The harness can also be used for work positioning, rope access and restraint.
Karabiner - Locking connector
Metal Chainex
Complies with EN362 & EN0082.
Locking karabiner, D shaped to provide more space behind the gate (opening portion). Individually tested to 25kN. (5500LBS)
Tape Slings
Ti.No.001 Slings
Manufacturer: Lyon Equipment
Specification: EN566
CE0120
The sewn tape (fig 5) sling is issued in two sizes, being two meters and sixty centimeters. The label shows the company name, batch number, year of manufacture, approved body and CE mark.
Rescue Triangle
Bermude C80 Rescue Triangle
Manufacturer: Petzl
Specification: CE 950083, prEN 1498
Equipment is specifically designed for casualty rescue operations. The function of rescue is to act quickly and often under difficult conditions, the simplicity of design allows firefighter's to ensure safe extrication of casualties from height.
The rescue triangle meets all current standards (CE 950083, prEN 1498) and is load tested to 23 kN. Items of equipment carry individual serial numbers and year of manufacture.
Low Stretch Rope
Antipodes Type A 11 mm diameter rope
Manufacturer: Beal
Specification: CE0120, EN1891
The rope issued to appliances is 50 meters long, 100m for level 2 kits, and of kernmantel construction. Its strength is contained within its core, which is covered by a sheath. They are identified at the end by marking strips containing the year of manufacture, the overall length, specification (CE0120, EN1891) and the manufacturers name. Internally there is a filament, which identifies the year of manufacture.
The unknotted rope has a static strength of 3000Kg. It possesses semi-dynamic properties to allow for a fall from a position below the anchor point. The rope has high abrasion resistance . They have moderate stretch which allows them to absorb sufficient energy to arrest falls of up to fall factor 1.
Fall factor = height of fall
Length of rope between faller and anchor point
Rope Adjuster
I'D self-braking belay descender device
Manufacturer: Petzl
Specification: CE0197, EN341 class A
I'D (D20S) self-braking belay descender device. Conforms to CE0197. The device weighs 530g and is designed for use with ropes 10-11.5 mm in diameter.
Mainly constructed from aluminium alloy for the side pieces, stainless steel for the pulley, chrome steel for the anti-error catch (see fig.13 for part names).
Rope Grab
Ascension B17R
Manufacturer: Petzl

Edge Protector
Petzl roll module P49 consists of a U shaped channel containing four rollers. The individual modules can be connected via the supplied links. A set of two modules complete weighs 665g. It is designed for use with ropes less than 13 mm in diameter.
It has a working load limit of 300Kg.
Scaffold Lanyards
Absorbica Y - The Absorbica Y is a Y-shaped webbing lanyard with internal energy absorber. Its double leg allows the operator to pass junctions/ joints on the main support/ structure, without disconnection.
The Absorbica stitching is designed to tear, absorbing the energy produced by a fall.
MGO60 - A wide-opening connector (60mm gate) with a double action safety system, fitted to each end of the Y legs. It comprises of a spring-loaded forged steel gate, locking mechanism and alloy hook.
The complete unit is designed to withstand a static load of up to 2.5kN, before the operation of the Absorbica.
A force of 6kN is required to fully deploy the Absorbica (which in tests with a fall factor of 2 has recorded a maximum shock load of 100kN).
The fully deployed lanyard has a static breaking load of 15kN.
Length 800mm
Length of each arm 560mm
Length after operation 1500mm
