PERISTALTIC PUMP

Peristaltic Pumps are available for use within the Brigade and are available via MACC

The pump is a small, portable, self-contained unit; powered by an inbuilt Honda, 4-stroke, petrol engine, and is mounted on a carrying frame. It uses the conventional peristaltic pumping action, similar to that used on kidney dialysis machines. Being a positive displacement pump it is self-priming.

The pump is capable of pumping fluids of varying viscosities. Fluids containing solid particles up to 13mm and small pieces of paper, cloth, sawdust, leaves, etc, all of which would normally cause a conventional pump to seize up, will pass through the pump with no adverse effect. The pump can also run dry indefinitely.

Oil, grease and diesel oil will not adversely affect any of the ancillary equipment or the internal workings of the pump.

Using various attachments, it is possible to remove almost all water from any spillage or flooding (ie: road surface or basement floor, etc).
