MAKITA JR 3000 RECIPROCATING SAW

The Makita reciprocating saw is an electrically powered saw that is provided with a selection of blades. It may be used for sawing ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, wood, wood with metal inclusions, (eg nails and screws), and other fibrous materials. It may be used for access to secure premises, rescues in RTAs and similar, access behind and under panels, floorboards and other "soft" internal dividers in buildings, cutting of tree branches, shrubbery, etc, for access purposes.

The tool is 110 volt, double insulated and must only be used in conjunction with fire service generators, which are centre tapped to earth and fitted a with miniature circuit breaker and an earth leakage circuit breaker.
The tool can, within reason safely be used during wet weather conditions. However, if used during heavy rain it may be advisable to provide a shelter. The tool cannot be used in flammable atmospheres.

Two variations of the saw are in use in the Brigade, the JR3000V which has an infinitely variable speed control with a pre-setting device and the JR3000 which has two speeds, selected by a switch incorporated in the left hand side of the handle.
