LAYFLAT HOSE

All hose produced in accordance with BS 6391:1983 is indelibly marked along its length with the maker’s identification, the nominal bore of the hose and the month and year of manufacture.

89 mm hose 

Frequently referred to as 90 mm, this hose is issued primarily for water relays and is fitted with BS instantaneous couplings. The standard length currently issued is 25 metres although older hose may be in shorter lengths to imperial measurements.

64 mm hose 

Frequently referred to as 70 mm, which is in fact a different size. It is fitted with BS instantaneous couplings. All hose issued will be marked with its diameter (64 mm). Standard lengths are 23 metres for firefighting and 5 metres for tank filling. Other non-standard lengths are issued for special applications.

45 mm hose 

Fitted with BS instantaneous couplings, this hose is issued in 23 metre lengths.

32 mm hose

Issued to feed small branchpipes up to approximately 250 l/min flow rating in select special applications, e.g. Bronto ALP hand line. This hose is fitted with a BS instantaneous male coupling at the supply end and a Storz coupling at the branchpipe end. A typical length is 3 metres.

25 mm hose 

Primarily issued to High Rise Packs for use with small branchpipes. This hose is fitted with a BS instantaneous male coupling at the supply end and a Storz coupling at the branchpipe end. The standard length is 30 metres for High Rise Packs but other lengths may be occasionally issued for select special applications.
