The function of the Visual Services Department is to produce all photographic and video (film and digital) and imaging presentation material for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Authority.
We are involved in fire investigation work, attendance at major fires and incidents involving fatalities/injuries. We work closely with, and provide services for other departments such as Community Fire Safety, Public Relations, Training and Fire Safety.
We work in liaison with outside bodies such as West Yorkshire Police, Trading Standards and other agencies providing supporting materials for their enquiries. Some material is sold to production and television companies.
We are also responsible for securely storing and maintaining all visual images captured by personnel in accordance with relevant data protection, copyright, etc. legislation.
